Camp Playland was founded in 1957 by Pearl and Walter Bloom.  

Sixty-eight campers were enrolled the first summer and the facilities consisted of one pool and a ball field.  Every year new additions are made to the Playland facility resulting in the premier campus of Fairfield County.

In 1973, Gary Bloom joined his parents as partner and has since become the owner and director.

Today Camp Playland enrolls over four hundred campers and has a staff of over one hundred and thirty teachers, college and high school students.  We enjoy and are proud of our fine reputation.
