In summer 2016 we will celebrate our 60th camp season! It’s amazing to think back to 1957. Walter and Pearl Bloom and Sy and Adele Breslow, Playland founders, had a dream to have a summer camp and bought 10 wooded acres that would eventually become the 18-acre campus we enjoy today. Did they ever dream so far into the future to imagine 60 years, tens of thousands of campers, and millions of camp memories?

This winter we will begin planning different ways to celebrate our 60th season. We will have special t-shirts and new special events and new and exciting activities. It will be fun to think of ways to incorporate the camp’s history into the camps future.   If you have any suggestions or ideas, please let us know. If alumni or past staff have special photos or memories, we would love to hear from you!

And do we dare now, in 2016, dare to dream big, to summer 2056 and summer 100? I don’t think we can, while there is so much to enjoy in this moment.
