Krista is a science teacher at the Brunswick School in Greenwich. Meet Krista in her own words:
You may have seen a tall, blonde girl around camp who looks like an adult but acts like a kid. She is usually wearing some kind of crazy tie dyed shirt or costume and has a lot of energy… all of the time! You may ask, “who is this and why does she love camp so much!?”
Hi! My name is Krista Wynia, and I am the girls Upper Camp head counselor.
Fun facts about me are:
1. I grew up in Minnesota and am a huge Vikings and Twins fan.
2. I love BBQ chicken pizza and chicken parmesan.
3. I swam competitively in college and currently coach middle school boys’ water polo and competitive swim team.
4. I have worked as a camp counselor for 11 years. 1 summer in Iowa, 8 summers in Maine, and now 2 summers at Camp Playland.
My love for camp started at a young age. I attended sleep away and day camps growing up. When I turned 18 I had my first job as a camp counselor. Ever since I have spent my summers running around with kids at amazing camps in the Midwest and Northeast. I absolutely love playing and interacting with each of the campers. I enjoy participating in the camp activities, special events and being able to be silly and a kid at heart. Each summer is more fulfilling than the last and I could not imagine spending my summer any other way. Camp Playland is the best! I hope to see a lot of old and new faces in summer 2016!
